“There you are!” The voice calls out. “Give me back what you took from me” The character lets out a warning shot from its weapon. A glowing red blast of energy flies between Rocco and I and explodes a stalagmite behind us. We cover as the debris rains down.

“The next shot will NOT miss. Now for the last time, give me back what you took!” The angered figure yells from the cave entrance, tightly grasping his weapon in preparation for another shot.

Rocco whispers to me from his cover “Dude! I don’t know what you took from this guy, but you better give it back.” Without time for response Rocco calls out to the figure from behind the boulder “I’m not with him! Whatever he has, has got nothing to do with me!”

My brow furrows as glare at him. The cave remains silent, there was no reply, no shot, nothing. I look back at the weapon bearing figure. He’s hesitating. His gun shakes for a while, then suddenly, he drops to his knees, lowering his weapon.

Rocco pokes his head over the boulder, holding his ears down around his head so as not to become too visible. We give each other a look and both shrug our shoulders. “W…whats he doing?...is he…crying?” Rocco whispers to me.

The figure throws his gun down and breaks into a full sob.

I feel he might not be the threat we first thought, so I hop down from my rock and slowly approach.

“No! Don’t! what are you doing!” Rocco whispers, frantically reaching out to me waving his arms, but still too scared to move from behind his boulder.

As I get closer, I can faintly hear the visitor mutter something under its sobbing.

“It’s useless. I…I’ll never find her.” The figure looks up and shouts to us “I’m sorry…I see now, you are not who I thought you might be…”

I continue to walk forwards, the vision of this character becoming clear. A large round head, wrapped at the bottom with a burgundy cloth. It has two antenie. I thought Rocco looked strange but this…this place is not failing to surprise me. They stare at me, two large black eyes in the middle of his green face. Well, the top half is green at least, the bottom white. Tears ran down their face.

I walk right up to them and hold out my hand. The green being raises its head with a tired gaze. He has been through something tragic. After a moment's hesitation, the character grabs my hand with his large gloved hand, and I pull him to his feet.

“I…I apologize…” His words tremble “it’s just…I don’t know what to do…I don’t even know where I am.”

My eyes widen “You don’t know either?” I lean in closer “I just woke up here too. I don’t know where I am, how I got here, or…” I hesitate, letting it all sink it “...or who I am”

The green being looks at me sympathetically “You, don’t know who you are?”

“No, I woke up here, inside the belly of a grotesque monster. I got out, and now I’m here. That is all I know” I inform him.

“That's horrible! I’m so sorry.” He leans forwards and wraps his arms around me. I stand ridged, unsure how to handle this interaction. He quickly perks up, straightening himself, he clears his throat and dries his eyes. “I’m Obetoshi…But you can call me Obe” He holds out his hand, I’m unsure what he wants me to do. I just give him a nod.

Obe looks over my shoulder “Who’s that?” He points over at Rocco, who is currently observing from a distance. Once spotted he quickly retreated back behind the boulder.

“That’s Rocco. Don’t worry about him, he’s not a threat.” I inform Obe. “So, do you remember much? About how you got here?”

“Um, yeah, sure I do. I remember before getting here…then, something happened. I have a vague recollection of what happened after, but this place, I don't know much about.” Obe begins to tell me about how he ended up on Bloodcrest.
